Caring for your jewel
Guidance to keep your JM Lucent jewel luminous for a lifetime — wearing, cleaning and storage.
Everyday wear
Remove your jewellery before sport, the gym, cleaning or swimming — chlorine and household chemicals can harm gold and dull gemstones. Put it on last, after lotions, perfume and hairspray.
Diamonds
Lab-grown and natural diamonds are cared for in the same way: soak briefly in warm water with a drop of mild soap, brush gently with a soft brush — especially beneath the stone — rinse, and dry with a lint-free cloth.
Emeralds
Emeralds ask for a gentler hand. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam, heat and harsh chemicals; simply wipe with a soft cloth dampened in lukewarm water. Many emeralds receive traditional clarity enhancement, which this gentle care helps preserve.
Storage & settings
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box so diamonds cannot scratch gold, platinum or other stones. Have prongs and settings checked periodically by a jeweller — particularly engagement rings and eternity bands worn every day.
